Compression-End Ball Valve

Service conditions

A ball valve opens or closes the pipeline by rotating a ported ball. Port geometry, seats and stem sealing determine its operating performance. Selection should consider differential pressure, fluid cleanliness and cycling duty together.

Construction and description

Compression connections depend on the fitting and tube-end interface. Match tube outside diameter, wall thickness, material and fitting series. Follow the connection requirements for assembly, tube preparation and repeated servicing.

Configuration

Select the manual operator or actuator to suit the valve torque or thrust requirements and site operating conditions. Provide access and clearance for manual operation. For frequent cycling or remote operation, assess actuator output, duty cycle and valve-position feedback.

Service conditions

Specify the process-fluid composition and steady-state, startup and shutdown conditions, then evaluate the body, wetted internals and sealing materials together.
